Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has described his running mate for the December 7 elections as “God-fearing, a distinguished scholar, a conscientious public servant and a role model”.
This follows a unanimous endorsement of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NDC as Mr Mahama’s running mate.
The former president made his choice known to NEC on Monday as the party gears up for yet another elections.
Shortly, after the unanimous endorsement, the two-time presidential candidate took to his official Facebook page to shower plaudits on his new partner.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang’s nomination makes her the first female to be Vice Presidential candidate for the NDC.
This will also be the first time Mr Mahama will be going into a presidential election with a different running mate.
He had contested the two previous elections – in 2012 and 2016 – with the late Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur.
