A large part of Ghana’s capital city, Accra, and other surrounding areas experienced earth tremors late Wednesday.
The slight movements of the earth occurred between 10:40pm and 10:50pm.
The magnitude of the tremors has not been officially measured but most residents who felt the incident said it happened three times in a spate of 10 minutes.
Aside the central business area of the nation’s capital, other areas such as Adenta, North Legon, Avenor, Kwabenya, Gbawe, Adabraka, among others also experienced the tremors.
Others in Kasoa, Swedru and Cape Coast in the Central Region also felt it.
Significantly, earthquakes were recorded on Wednesday in other parts of the world including New Zealand.
Many in Ghana took to social media to share their experiences of the natural occurrence.
