The Bono Regional Minister, Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson, has commended Zoomlion Ghana Limited for its continuous commitment to fighting the novel coronavirus nationwide.
She observed that since the outbreak of covid-19, staff of Zoomlion have not rested as they have had to crisscross the country to undertake disinfection and fumigation exercises to contain the spread of the deadly virus and also ensure safe environment for Ghanaians.
Mrs Richardson made the commendation while launching the Bono Region’s phase of the Police- Zoomlion Ghana Limited Nationwide Fumigation and Disinfection exercise in Sunyani.
The exercise will see personnel of the waste management giant disinfect and fumigate all police stations, cells and barracks among other police facilities in the Bonon Region.
Mrs. Richardson was optimistic that the professionalism demonstrated by Zoomlion during the nationwide market disinfection exercise and the fumigation and disinfection exercises of senior high schools will be brought to bear in the current police exercise.
“We are privileged to have you in Ghana otherwise we would not have had it easy at all during this outbreak, we therefore expect you to always deliver in perfection,” she said.
She cautioned residents against living their normal lifestyle because “we’re no longer in normal times”, and thus urged them to use the face mask, wash hands periodically with soap under running water and practice social distancing as well as use hand sanitizers to protect themselves.
The Bono Regional Police Commander DCOP Godfred Owusu Boateng assured Zoomlion of their fullest collaboration and support for the exercise, and urged the officers to create an enabling environment for the staff of Zoomlion to disinfect and fumigate their facilities.
General Manager of Zoomlion for the Bono, Ahafo and Bono East Regions Mrs. Esther Abayeta assured individuals and corporate institutions nationwide to approach Zoomlion for all their disinfection and fumigation needs at highly subsidized rates.
She urged the workers to give the police service nothing but the best.
