The Somanya District Magistrate Court has granted bail to 14 persons from Sawer, a suburb of Somanya in the Eastern region for breaching the ban on public gathering.
They have been asked to reappear in court on Monday.
According to the police, the suspects had gathered in a house and were performing puberty rites known as dipo, which the policy say was against the Restrictions Act.
The 14 persons include leaders of the puberty rites, parents and children who were undergoing the rite.
Some were surprised that a group would hold such an event when even kingmakers in Akropong in the same region have been arrested for contravening the act when they performed traditional rites to install a chief.
Though the kingmakers have been granted bail, the police intend processing them for court on Monday.
