Former Asante Kotoko player, Eric Bekoe has thrown his weight behind coach Bashiru Hayford for the vacant technical director role at the Ghana Football Association.
Three local coaches and three expatriates are rumoured to be in contention for the technical directorship role at the Football Association following the exit of Coach Oti Akenteng.
Speaking exclusively to Akoma FM Sports in Kumasi, the ex-Kotoko and national team forward believes coach Bashiru Hayford has what it takes to lead the technical directorate department of the FA and take it to the next level.
“I have worked under Coach Bash in different teams including Kotoko and I believe his technical knowledge, his fatherly role, commitment to the game and experience makes him suitable to deliver as the Technical Director of the FA”.
“I don’t know Prof. Mintah so much on one on level so I can’t stick my neck out for him but I believe that Bashiru Hayford will do a good job if given the opportunity” the former Hearts of Lions, Sekondi Hasaacas and Power FC star who also had a short stint with the Black Stars when he came on as a sub at the Fulham Stadium in a friendly involving the Black Stars and Mexico added.
The Ghana Football Association has set up a team to hunt for a new Technical Director for the FA.
The search team has been conducting virtual interviews for the applicants and is set to name the successful applicant to man the Technical Directorate department of the FA.
