After years of courting controversies and making enemies for himself in the process, Ghana’s self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale, appears to have now taken a sober reflection and drawing closer to his maker.
Though not known to be a religious and spiritual person, at least publicly, the artiste says he is closer to God despite all his excesses one of got him a court case recently.
“Spirituality is one of my greatest gifts,” he told Giovani Caleb on 3FM Drive Tuesday afternoon.
The Freedom hitmaker who released his latest album, ‘Wonder Boy’ last weekend, revealed that he is “too close to God”, a revelation likely to surprise a lot of Ghanaians some of who have viewed him with dislike.
“I’m very prayerful; I like to talk about God anywhere I am because I’ve seen things. I’ve moved, I’ve not just sat down as Shatta Wale,” he told Giovani when he appeared on the 3FM Drive on 92.7 to promote his latest album.
Shatta Wale indicated that he has throughout his life “tasted” the powers of God and that of man and come to the realisation that God reigns supreme in everything despite the ingenuity of man.
“I’ve tasted what man can do and what God can do” he stated, stressing that “what God can do is greater than what Man can do.
He said he is convinced that “God’s plan will always be the best” although “man can do some, but man can’t do it the way God can do it”.
Shatta Wale who is currently being tried for his infamous act on the stage of the 2019 Vodafone Music Awards in April admitted “God has been so great to me” for which reason he’s made a promise to God to share his story to the world.
“That is one promise I’ve made to him” Shatta said, adding “I want to share that story to the world for people to really believe in Him”.
