Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has confirmed he has taken a stake in Spanish third division side Alcobendas Sport, making him a part owner of the club.
The Atletico Madrid star and three of his associates acquired the stakes in the club to follow a growing trend of footballers digging their hands into ownership pies early.
Partey confirmed the news after his visit to the club over the weekend.
One of Partey’s representatives and a son of the club’s main shareholders, Jose Jose Jiminez, confirmed Partey’s involvement too.
“Well, we were offered this possibility and we found it an interesting project and we decided to go for it.
“I am Thomas’ representative as well as his friend and so, when the chance presented itself, we asked him if he wanted to participate. He was very welcoming of the idea.”
