The second edition of the Connect FM Community Street Rap Battle came to an exciting climax on Saturday, September 7 at the Positive Action Bay in Essikado, Sekondi.
Ten rappers who emerged tops from four communities battled their way to the final to wrestle for the coveted crown and the bragging rights.
They are Ladsmid, King Zuba, Crown Buka, from Kwesimintsim, Yaw King, Dhisway, Mr. Crayon, from Effiakuma, Kin Ropa, Abrassive Promzy, from Takoradi and Biscuit, Kwame Speechless, from Sekondi.
The most exciting rounds on the night were the Creativity and the One-on-One battle.
Ladsmid, Biscuit and Yaw King won their respective battles outstandingly.
After three rounds of fierce rap show down, Effiakuma’s Yaw King emerged King of the Rap in Sekondi-Takoradi, taking over from Chichiz, winner of the maiden edition.
Biscuit from Sekondi and Ladsmid from Kwesimintsim emerged 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.
The winner took home a fully installed DSTv and gets a music recording deal as well as a music video shot.
The 1st and 2nd runners-up won a fully installed ‘Go TV’ and prizes from headline sponsor Black Rock Honey whiskey from Kasapreko.
The judging panel was made up of renowned radio personality Jam Master Caesar, sound engineers Skinny MC and Vybez Beats, Corporate Communications Executive and PRO of Westline Entertainment Nana Kwesi Coomson and Head of Events and Lifestyle at Media General Ken Nana Kojo Addo.
The final of the Community Street Rap Battle enjoyed performances from Ras Ebo and winner of the 2018 edition, Chichiz.
