The Municipal Chief Executive for La Nkwantanang-Madina, Jennifer Dede Afagbedzi has assured the people of the area that she would ensure the completion of abandoned projects by the past administration.
Cutting sod for the construction of 200 capacity boys’ dormitory and other ancillary facilities for the National Community Development Vocational and Technical Training Institute at Madina, she said she is resolved to pursue developmental projects in the municipality.
She pledged to complete all projects that have started under her tenure, within the stipulated time.
Ms Afagbedzi said she deal with the issue of funds which usually impede projects in the municipality. Guaranteeing availability of funds, she noted, will enable contractors to deliver on time.
Most of the abandoned projects, she observed, are not as a result of lack of funds but lack of proper and close monitoring by oversight bodies.
Others, according to her, are halted by legal suits and court injunctions but promised to get those cases resolved for the completion of those projects.
“It is possible for us as an assembly to accomplish this and I am dedicating myself to meet all stakeholders to commence work speedily on all projects to facilitate total transformation of the Assembly,” she added.
The MCE said the assembly within two months has begun construction of numerous infrastructural projects in schools within the municipality and are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
These projects, according to her, are geared towards enhancing the education sector.
