A former contestant of TV3’s music reality show Mentor, Kymani Gaisie, has called for the rebranding and reintroduction of the talent show onto the screens.
According to KGEE, as he was popularly known while on the show some years back, Mentor has had a great impact not just on him but on his colleagues as well.
Speaking in an interview on TV3‘s New Day with co-host Ayisha Yakubuu, KGEE said the show has played a major role in the life of its contestants; hence, it is important to bring it back to hone more talents.
“TV3 Mentor must always be done. Just like you are renovating your studio, you have to rebrand Mentor and bring it back,” he stated.
“My colleagues and I are asking why Mentor is not ongoing, because it took us to far heights and people question us on how the show has impacted us wherever we find ourselves.”
He recounted his days in the 3rd edition, which he described as an experience that was new to him and helped shape his career.
He also revealed that anytime he gets into the premises of TV3, he gets motivated and relieved despite the challenges confronting and weighing him down.
According to him, Mentor III was the equivalence of a music school where his fledgling career in music began and took flight.
During his time, he said he learned a lot from the show, thus contributing to whom he is today as a musician.
KGEE, now known as Kofi Kymani, announced the release of his new album which is titled ‘Originality’.
The album is scheduled to be released in August and has 12 tracks with musician Kurl Songx featured in some.
