The Minister of Youth and Sports has disclosed that in excess of $4.5 million was spent by Ghana at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Isaac Kwame Asiamah told Parliament on Wednesday, July 24 that over $6 million was approved for the Black Stars’ campaign.
He therefore assured that the remainder of the funds will be returned to the government chest for appropriation.
Mr Asiamah, who is also Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua Constituency, was on the floor of Parliament to account for the failed campaign of the senior national men’s soccer team to annex a fifth title.
Ghana was knocked out in the Round of 16 by Tunisia.
