Having hosted the Ghana Policy Summit, the first Sierra Leone Investment Summit, the panel session of the 20th anniversary of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Alfred Ocansey has proven himself the right choice for this event.
He comes to the table with the needed dexterity, articulation, finesse and depth of knowledge required to moderate this high-level engagement on strengthening trade among African countries. To be held at the African Union headquarters, the conference brings together business executives, policy makers and experts from all over Africa to articulate ways of enhancing intra-Africa trade, regional integration, trade liberalization, trade policies and practices of the African continent.
They will also discuss and proffer plausible solutions on how to turn the long talk into actions.
AU Commissioner Moussa Faki Mahamat as well as high-level delegations from governments are expected to grace the two-day conference as guest speakers.
Other speakers include: The President of Ecowas Bank for Investment and Development, the President of African Export and Import Bank, the President of the Trade and Development Bank, the Executive Secretary of SADC and a tall list of other A-list continental influencers within governments and private sectors of Ethiopia, Ghana and the rest of Africa.
Organisers of the conference believe the moment of Africa to assert itself in the international business arena has come in earnest and event presents a good opportunity to do exactly that.
They are also confident the conference will create the platform for businesses across the African continent to match up, seek funding for expansion from African financial houses (that will be present), invest and be informed on new business trends.
Being invited to host such a conference is no mean achievement for Alfred Ocansey, whose work as a journalist brought relief to some street children not long ago.
He continues to carve an enviable niche for himself in the space of journalism as he grows his career and impacts lives.
