Two police officers, Constable Amartey Godfred and Constable Boateng Lotis, have reportedly sustained gunshot wounds from an unidentified person suspected to be a member of two feuding chieftaincy gates at Atulbabisi in Bolgatanga of the Upper East Region.
Both police and military men were said to have moved into the area Monday evening when they gathered information that the two chieftaincy gates of Atulbabisi were pelting stones at each other.
But on reaching the scene to make inquiries about the disturbances, the two officers were shot in the process.

A police statement sighted by 3news.com indicates that the wounded police officers are responding to treatment at the Upper East Regional hospital.
The police have however indicated that they are still investigating the matter and that any further development will be communicated.
