The Referees Association of Ghana (RAG) has concluded its investigations into the allegations of corruption and match-fixing leveled against some members as captured in the documentary film by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
A statement by RAG on Monday said a five-member investigative committee was set up to look into the conduct of the 75 referees whose names and faces appeared in the film.
The referees were interdicted ahead of the investigations.
RAG said the committee started work on Monday, August 20 and submitted its report on Saturday, September 8.
Consequently, an executive meeting was held on Saturday, September 15 to consider the report of the committee.
Fourteen were cleared as per the recommendations “as there was no evidence whatsoever that they accepted any money as alleged”.
Among these 14 are Solomon Mordey, Joseph Laryea, Edward Quaye and Yakubu Nuhu Limann, who was attacked by fans at a Ghana Premier League game in the Central Region.
Sixty-one were handed a 10-year ban with eight given life bans.
The eight include David Laryea and Reginald Lathbridge, who had already been banned by the Confederation of African Football.
The rest are Safo Adade, Samuel Sukah, Dally Gagba, Furella Barnie, Umar Teni and Charles Dowuona.
