A Deputy National Organizer of the opposition NDC, Mahdi Gibriel Mohammed, who is seeking to become the National Organizer, is hopeful his achievements and continuous hard work in the party, over the past four years, will earn him the coveted position.
The race for the position has become very intense with candidates including former National Organizer, Yaw Boateng Gyan, a Vice Chair, Anita Desoso, and another current Deputy National Organizer, Joseph Akamba, all seeking to get the nod in the party’s upcoming elections.
But Mahdi Gibriel Mohammed is positive his successes will inch him up to the substantive position.
Speaking on 3FM, he explained that he stands tall among all the other candidates to reclaim power for the party in the 2020 general elections.
“I have worked so hard for the party even in the 2012 elections even up to the Supreme Court where I did that dedicated work for the party, so I helped the party to win both the 2012 election and the Supreme Court case.
“Since then, I became the Deputy National Organizer, and I availed myself for the party, knowing the responsibility of a deputy national organizer to support the National Organizer in implementing the party’s project,” he explained.
Mahdi Mohammed has also rejected claims by his colleague deputy National Organizer, Joseph Akamba, that he often sidelined him from work.
He argues that the claim has no basis since he only executes tasks assigned to him, without any interference.
NDC’s national executive elections have been slated for Saturday, October 20, 2018.
