All the 29 chief executives of the various municipal and district assemblies in the Brong Ahafo Region have lauded President Nana Akufo-Addo for appointing Kwaku Asoma-Cheremeh as the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.
In their view, the appointment is a great hnour to the people of the region and an elevation for Mr. Asoma-Cheremeh who is now the outgoing Brong Ahafo Regional Minister.
“We deem this appointment by the President a great honor to the Region and wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency for appointing an illustrious son of BA to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources,” they said at a news conference Tuesday.
President Akufo-Addo in his first ever-ministerial reshuffle on August 9 moved Peter Amewu from the Lands and Natural Resouces Ministry to the Energy Minister whose Minister, Boakye Agyarko, was sacked on August 1.
Mr. Asoma-Cheremeh was thus moved as Brong Ahafo Regional Minister to replace Mr. Amewu.

A statement read by the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Dr. Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson on behalf of her colleagues said Mr. Asoma-Cheremeh has contributed in divers ways to the socio-economic development of the region.
She said they are confident that his acquired skills and experiences will help bring the desired results needed at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
“We believe that Mr. Asomah-Cheremeh’s efficient delivery as the Regional Minister contributed to the confidence his Excellency the President had in him prior to his appointment to lead such a vital ministry,” Dr. Richardson noted.
The MDCEs also thanked Nana Akufo-Addo for the confidence reposed in the Mr. Bobie by making him the Regional Minister.
“We do not deem this as just an honor but we are assured by this nomination that indeed his Excellency has a strong belief in the people of the region,” Dr. Richardson observed.
The President’s start of his nationwide tour from the Brong Ahafo Region, the MDCEs said, was commendable.
They said Nana Akufo-Addo has demonstrated his “his decision to transform the road network of the region by awarding the Brerekum town roads, Sunyani City roads, Offuman-Amoma roads among others” to contractors.
