Academic ace Gwendolyne Brown arrived in at the Kotoka International Airport Tuesday night to much fanfare and traditional choreography from students of Seven Great Princes Academy, her alma mater.
She made an epoch-making history at the Southampton University in the United Kingdom by becoming the first Ghanaian to score a 100 per cent in English Literature.
Ms Brown, 21, scored this at the Advance Subsidiary level in the British curriculum.
She was met on arrival by her mother, Mrs Brown, together with some officials and students of Seven Great Princes Academy.
She is expected to pay a courtesy call on former President Jerry John Rawlings later on Wednesday before delivering what is expected to be a powerful speech at the opening of the academic week of Seven Great Princes Academy next Tuesday.
She told reporters upon her arrival that she is proud of what she has achieved for Ghana and very proud of her alma mater, which, she asserted, without it she couldn’t have made it thus far.
She noted that her alma mater provide the spark for her intellectual discipline, which she has never departed from.
According to her any Ghanaian girl child could have achieved same with better educational foundation such as the one she got from Seven Great Princes Academy.
She expressed gratitude to the school and teachers of the school for making her what she is today.
