3news.com has gathered from our sources in Parliament that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ho West Constituency in the Volta Region intends to resign.
The Ranking Member for the Government Assurance Committee,, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, who is also a Chairman of the Parliamentary Christian Fellowship, is reported to have written to the Speaker, Prof. Mike Oquaye, informing him of his decision to quit.
It has not immediately been established what his reasons are but unconfirmed reports suggests he may have some reservations about internal party issues.
It is also rumoured that the MP, who has been in Parliament on the ticket of the NDC since 2008, may lose the seat to a colleague NDC candidate in the next primaries.
Meanwhile, leadership of the Minority in Parliament is held up in a crunch meeting seeking to talk the MP out of his decision to resign.
Should Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah go ahead to resign, the number of the NDC Minority in Parliament will be reduced to 105 members as against the NPP Majority of 169 members.
A final decision on his resignation is expected to be officially known after the meeting of the leadership of the Minority.
