One person collapsed out of possible shock when fire swept through three shops at Pedu Junction in Cape Coast destroying goods estimated to cost thousands of cedis.
Eyewitnesses said the collapsed person was immediately rushed to the Cape Coast Hospital for medical attention.
The fire, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, destroyed assorted building materials in the shops that were being sold.
It is unclear what might have caused the fire outbreak as eyewitnesses say they only heard a loud bang and immediately saw smoke coming from one of the shops which late spread to two other shops on the line.
Meanwhile, the Central Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, ACFO Fanny Simpson, said they received a distress call and quickly rushed to the place to douse the fire.
She added investigations were underway to determine the cause of fire.
