A Senior Lecturer at the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Kwabena Obeng Duedu, has denied news making rounds that lecturers and some residents among whom chiefs engage in open defaecation around the University premises.
Reacting in a tweet, Kwabena Obeng Duedu, who is the Head of the Biomedical Department of UHAS, stated that where open defaecation may have been taking place is nowhere near the school, which is at Sokode Etoe and Adaklu Kodzobi.
When did you guys start doing #FakeNews? Do you know the location of the University of Health and Allied Sciences? Or did your Kweku Antwi-Otoo bother to rise above irresponsible journalism to check the facts before writing? UHAS is situated in Sokode Etoe and Adaklu Kodzobi.

The lecturer further the news fake.
I expect that any responsible media firm if @3Newsgh is one will check their facts before pinning #FalseNews to their handle. Sokode Gbogame is not even a walking distance from @UHASGhana. @3Newsgh rise above #FakeNews

A resident of Sokode Gbogame, a suburb of Ho in the Volta Region, had called into Onua FM’s Yen Nsempa on Wednesday to state that open defaecation was rampant in the area.
According to him, the act is common among inhabitants in and around the University because they do not have any public place of convenience.
“The only one toilet which serves 3,000 inhabitants has been closed for over four years now ever since an old woman who was manning the toilet passed away,” the resident revealed.
He said workers, residents, chiefs and even lecturers who live in and around the school go to toilet in bushes.
“University of [Health and Allied Sciences] is just around the area and all the population of about 3,000 is indulged in open defecation,” the resident alleged.
