The Police say Anthony Nana Wiafe told his victims he is a member of the country’s Air Force and Military, and collected the amount from them under the pretext of recruiting them into the Ghana Armed Forces.
Two residents, Emelia Odame and Alfred Asante of Kwesi Nyarko, a community near Nsawam, arrested the suspect with the help of a police officer on October 2.
Some military accoutrements were retrieved from the suspect during a search conducted on him at his hideout, the Police told TV3.
The police has advised the public to use approved mediums of getting enlisted into any of the security services.
