The Convention People’s Party (CPP) says it considers as unfortunate recent attempts by some forces to attempt to re-write the history of Ghana and, by so doing, water down the contribution of Kwame Nkrumah in the emancipation of the Black man as well as in Ghana’s independence struggle.
Chairman and leader of the CPP Professor Edmund Delle says the late Dr Nkrumah is the pillar of Ghana and the leading pace setter for the emancipation of Africa.
He made these remarks during the 108th birthday commemoration of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
The commemoration was on the theme ‘Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah: The Irreplaceable Foundational Stone of Ghana’.
The event attracted the leadership of the CPP including the 2016 flagbearer, Ivor Greesnstreet.
In attendance were also some members of the biggest opposition party , National Democratic Congress (NDC) – Lee Ocran and Vice Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
