The Ghana National Union of Technical Students (GNUTS) has asked all Technical Universities/Polytechnics students still pursuing their respective programs of study to pay last academic year’s school fees pending Parliament’s scrutiny and approval of the 2017/2018 academic year School fees.
The National Council for Tertiary Education made this pronouncement as the 2017/2018 academic year fees is collated and submitted to Parliament for scrutiny and subsequent approval.
All SRCs in member institutions should therefore take note of this directive and act as such.
We also entreat the government to, as a matter of urgency, constitute the Governing Councils for all Technical Universities and Polytechnics to make way for Congregation Ceremonies to take place.
This will enable students, who completed school as far back as 2016, to be free to find jobs or further their studies. The union shall duly communicate to members on any new development with respect to this issue.
