Paapa Yankson received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 VGMA
Legendary Ghanaian high-life musician Paapa Yankson has passed away.
Born Benjamin Paapa Kofi Yankson on June 22, 1944, the Tena Me Nky3n composer passed on after an illness, which has kept him in a wheel-chair for the past months.
Paapa Yankson has plenty works to his canon with songs like Show Your Love, Wo Yere Anaa Wo Maame and Wiase Mu Nsem becoming hits when they were released.
He also played an instrumental role in the setting up of music bands such as Western Diamonds, The Gold Nuggets and Carousel Seven.
His performances has been across the globe including Europe, the Americas and Africa.
He was honoured at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
