One of the Commissioners of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), Georgina Opoku Amankwa, has proceeded on leave following a recommendation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
EOCO is reported to be investigating the loss of about GH¢480,000 from the Endowment Fund at the Commission.
Two other senior officers including the Chief Accountant, Kwaku Owusu Agyei-Larbi, has also been asked to proceed on leave over the same issue.
These were contained in a letter dated July 4, 2017 and written to the Chair of the Commission, Charlotte Osei.
Written by Acting EOCO Executive Director ACP KK Amoah (rtd), the letter said the cited senior officers will help in investigations into the matter.
