The maiden edition of the ‘war’ to find out who cooks the best Jollof in West Africa has been scheduled to come off on Republic Day, July 1.
Dubbed ‘Jollof War’, the inaugural edition will be contested for by Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal.
The event will be under the auspices of 3FM 92.7.
Jollof is a popular West African rice dish and there has been argument – especially between Ghanaians and Nigerians – as to who cooks the best Jollof.
‘Jollof War’ will be an annual event with a purpose to celebrate the cultural and culinary diversity of Africa.
In subsequent editions, many more African countries will participate in the competition with their own versions of Jollof, the organisers have said.
There will be food, drinks, music and comedy as some celebrities will be gracing the event.
