It’s been 12 years since paragliding started at Kwahu Atibie
The Kwahu Traditional Authority has thrown its weight behind the establishment of a paragliding training school.
They are however calling for its siting in any of the Kwahu towns.
The chief of Abetifi and Adontenhene of the Kwahu Traditional Area, Nana Akyemfo Asiedu Agyemang III, was responding to the tourism ministry’s proposal at the launch of this year’s paragliding festival.
“We have even met with the ministry on this same project and we are ready to support the project especially since the paragliding festival takes place here,” he said in an interview.
“Once government is ready, we will put up the structure for them.”
The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Catherine Afeku, had in an earlier interview stated that the foreign paragliding pilots are ready to partner Ghana in setting up the trading school.
