The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah has called on the Akufo-Addo’s government to calm nerves of unposted nurses by striking a deal with them whiles it works on their postings.
Mr Acquah suggested to government to find these nurses a temporary working space in some of the health facilities by giving them monthly allowances through the Ghana National Service Secretariat.
He believes the allowance will go a long way to ease the financial burden of the nurses of whom majority depend on their families for survival.
Mr Acquah described as embarrassment the picketing by the unposted nurses at the health ministry on Tuesday.
Speaking to Ultimatefmonline.com, the CPP Regional Communications Director appealed to the the government to post these aggrieved nurses to the various chip compounds which do not have health professionals.
‘The number of deaths recorded at the various health facilities could be avoided if a lot more nurses are posted to health facilities with few nurses. Government should complete all the hospital projects and the various chip compounds the previous government started, so that there will be more working space for our health workers,’ he said.
