Youth cautioned against joining occult groups for quick money

The Open Arms Ministry has commemorated ‘Ghana’s 11th Spiritual Independence Day Celebration’ with a call on the youth to stay away from occult groups that are openly soliciting for membership and promising to make them get rich quickly.

Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie popularly known as Saint Sark, the head pastor, at a press conference in Kumasi to climax activities marking the celebrations emphasized that “there is no free lunch” on this earth and explained that the rituals and sacrifices that follow with its concomitant repercussions outweigh the benefits they promise.

Saint Sark said such groups are secret societies and everything about them is supposed to be secret and noted that they are now openly soliciting for members because of the inordinate desires of the youth to get rich quickly. He therefore cautioned the latter to be wary of such groups and stay away from them.

On the just ended World Cup tournament, he said it was quite unfortunate that some unscrupulous and “concert party pastors” were diluting the work of God with football by predicting score lines and outcome of matches during the tournament.

The head pastor vehemently condemned those pastors stating that neither Jesus Christ nor God cared about football emphasizing that “Jesus Christ does not support gambling because football is about gambling.”

Saint Sark also condemned the so-called “Prophets of the Nation” and “Kingmakers” saying “there is no true prophet who would demand money, cow or any valuables from a politician in order to make them win power because Jesus Christ does not need money from anybody.”

Touching on the jail sentence pronounced on Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka Chairman Wontumi, he said he (Saint Sark) had long predicted in 2024 that Wontumi would go to jail at all costs if there was a change of government and blamed the NPP for “practising primitive politics.”

“Where were they when Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng’s report implicated Wontumi in the Akonta Mining case? Prof. Frimpong Boateng’s report long ago incriminated Chairman Wontumi,” he said.
