Building collapses, kills 9-year-old girl, injures other siblings

A nine-year-old girl, Nana Ama, is reported to have met her untimely death Tuesday morning at Assin Damang in the Assin South District of the Central Region after a nearby building collapsed onto their building, where she was with three other siblings .

The building is said to have collapsed at 6am Tuesday morning.

Nana Ama reportedly died on the spot while the three other kids were rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment.

Eye witness told Kasapafmonline.com, the collapsed building was marked for demolishing by the Assin Municipal Assembly some months ago and was supposed to be demolished by the Assembly earlier.

Authorities of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the DCE for Assin south district Hon. Derrick Owusu Ambrose are said to have visited the site to ascertain the situation while the police have also started an investigation into the cause of the death. Read Full Story
