The Black Stars will be managed by an interim technical team during the November international window as Ghana continues its search for a permanent head coach.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the arrangement in a statement on Friday, October 9, following consultations with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and the Black Stars Coach Search Committee.
The interim team will oversee preparations for the November fixtures, maintain continuity within the national team programme and support player monitoring and engagement activities.
It will also facilitate a smooth transition when a permanent head coach is appointed.
Ghana are scheduled to face Somalia in a 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying doubleheader during the November international window, which runs from November 9 to 17.
The decision allows the committee to continue its recruitment process without compromising the Black Stars’ immediate competitive commitments.
The committee has extended its evaluation, interview and shortlisting process through October and November, with a final recommendation to be submitted thereafter.
The search follows the departure of Carlos Queiroz on October 1 and Ghana’s disappointing start to the qualifying campaign.
The Black Stars lost 2-0 to Côte d’Ivoire before suffering a 4-2 home defeat to The Gambia, despite taking a two-goal lead. The results left Ghana without a point at the bottom of Group C.
Former GFA vice-president Fred Pappoe chairs the five-member search committee, which includes Stephen Appiah, Anthony Baffoe, Agbesi Dzakpasu and Faisal Chibsah.
