The Upper West Regional Football Association (UWRFA) will hold its 2026 Ordinary Congress on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, as the region prepares for the 2026/27 football season.
The statutory meeting will be held at the Upland Hotel and is due to begin at 9:00am. Delegates, club representatives and other stakeholders from across Upper West football are expected to attend.
As the Association’s highest decision-making body, the Congress will assess the work completed during the past season and consider the priorities and plans for the new campaign.
Delegates will review the Association’s Activity Report, Financial Statements and Auditor’s Report. The proposed budget for the new season will also be considered, alongside the competitions calendar and football development programmes.
Other matters relating to the administration and development of football in the region will be placed before the meeting.
The Congress will also allow the Executive Council, led by Upper West Regional FA Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Sadugu, to discuss the progress made during the previous season with clubs and other stakeholders.
Those discussions are expected to include the challenges facing grassroots football in the region, as the Association prepares to begin its next programme of competitions.
In line with the Ghana Football Association Statutes, the relevant Congress documents and agenda have already been circulated to members. The distribution is intended to give delegates sufficient time to study the material before the deliberations.
The decisions taken at the meeting will provide the framework for the 2026/27 regional football season. The Association is expected to announce when its various competitions will begin following the Congress.
The Ordinary Congress brings together the members and stakeholders responsible for reviewing the Association’s activities, finances and plans, while providing the formal platform for decisions on the administration of football in Upper West.
