The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has introduced the first-ever GFA Colts Awards, creating a new platform to recognise outstanding contributions to grassroots football during the 2026/27 Colts Football Season.
GFA President and CAF 2nd Vice-President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku announced the awards at the official launch of the new season at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The scheme is part of the Football Association’s wider plans to strengthen the Colts football system and acknowledge the individuals, clubs and stakeholders whose work supports the development of young footballers across the country.
Players, coaches, clubs and officials will be among those eligible for recognition under the new awards. Other key contributors to Colts football will also be honoured for their performances, dedication and service to the game.
For the first time, the different levels of the Colts football structure will have a dedicated awards platform celebrating excellence and highlighting the contribution of grassroots stakeholders.
The initiative is also intended to reflect the role of community football in nurturing young talent and helping sustain the development of the sport.
The inaugural GFA Colts Awards will represent a significant milestone for Colts football, bringing recognition to the collective efforts of players, coaches, clubs, officials and other stakeholders who continue to help shape the future of Ghanaian football.
