Medeama have held their first training session in Lubumbashi ahead of their crucial CAF Champions League second-leg clash against TP Mazembe on Saturday.
The Ghanaian champions arrived in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Wednesday and immediately began preparations for the decisive encounter.
Medeama face a difficult task at the 18,000-capacity Stade TP Mazembe after suffering a 1-0 defeat to the Congolese giants in the first leg at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa.
They now need to overturn the deficit away from home to keep their Champions League campaign alive and secure what would be one of the biggest results in the club’s history.
The team will draw motivation from the financial support received from President John Dramani Mahama, who donated $30,000 to the club during their visit to Jubilee House on Tuesday.
Medeama will need a disciplined performance in Lubumbashi, with a victory by at least two goals enough to send them through to the next round.
The second leg is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, with the Ghanaian champions determined to produce a comeback and keep their continental campaign alive.
