Ghanaian forward Freda Ayisi has joined English Women's National League side AFC Wimbledon, the club has announced.
The 31-year-old attacker arrives at the Dons Women's team following a successful spell with Watford, where she helped the Golden Girls to a strong finish in the league's southern division, establishing herself as a key player in their attacking lineup.
AFC Wimbledon are building an exciting squad for the new season as they continue their push to climb the women's football pyramid.
Her signing is a significant boost for the club, with head coach Kevin Foster expressing his delight at securing her services.
Ayisi is no stranger to English football, having carved out a career in the country's women's league system. She previously played for Queens Park Rangers and helped the Hoops to promotion into the National League via the playoffs in the 2021/22 season before moving to Watford in 2023.
On the international stage, the forward has represented Ghana at various youth levels and recently earned a call-up to the Black Queens squad for the 2026 Africa Women's Cup of Nations. She was one of the promising players included in the squad for the tournament in Morocco, adding to her previous experience with the national team.
With the new season approaching, Ayisi will be looking to make an immediate impact at the Plough Lane outfit and help AFC Wimbledon continue their upward trajectory in the women's game.
