Samartex new coach, Nana Kwaku Agyemang, says he is prepared for the challenge ahead after recently joining the club following his departure from Vision FC.
Agyemang joined the Timber Club after an impressive spell with Vision FC in Ghanaian top-flight, where he established himself as one of the league's highly regarded young tacticians. He earned praise for his tactical intelligence, commitment to player development, and ability to transform the fortunes of his team.
In an interview, the fast-rising Ghanaian tactician declared his readiness to spearhead Samartex to success.
“I spent a significant part of my time in Europe working on a new game model for Samartex. I had extensive discussions with coach Wellington to assess the current squad, identify departures, and analyse the players available. Based on the information he provided, I have been able to develop a club-wide football model that will also be implemented at the junior team level.
“We want to play vertical football because our objective is to get to goal as quickly as possible. Unlike Vision FC, whose focus was largely on player development, Samartex is a club with ambitions of winning the league, so the game model will naturally be different. We want to play with high intensity, while also developing our players technically to ensure a strong foundation is established.
“I believe Samartex has what it takes to compete at the highest level. Looking at the players the club is bringing in, it is clear the team is preparing seriously for the new season. I am excited about this opportunity and eager to meet my technical team and the players. I cannot wait to get started. Samartex has presented me with a challenge that I truly cherish, and I am ready to live up to it” he told Mo TV.
The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season is scheduled to kick off between September 4 and 7, with Samartex aiming to make a strong start under their new manager.
The campaign will conclude on the weekend of May 28 to 31, 2027, as clubs across the country intensify preparations for another highly competitive season.
