Abbas Abdul Wadud: Ghanaian defender joins AS Marsa on long-term deal

Ghanaian centre-back Abbas Abdul Wadud has joined Tunisian side AS Marsa, signing a contract with the Ligue 1 club running until 30 June 2029. The defender completed his move on 27 July 2026 and will be registered primarily as a central defender for the North African team.

Abdul Wadud arrives at AS Marsa as a specialist centre-back, adding depth to the club’s defensive options ahead of the new campaign. His long-term agreement reflects the club’s intention to build continuity at the back, with the Ghanaian now tied to Marsa for three full seasons beyond the current one.

The move sees the defender establish himself in Tunisia’s top flight, with AS Marsa competing in Ligue 1. The club has increasingly turned to international recruits to strengthen key areas of the squad, and Abdul Wadud’s arrival continues that trend in central defence.
