Debibi United are pushing to secure the signature of experienced defender Maxwell Agyemang, who has previously featured for Hohoe United, Asante Kotoko, and Karela United.
The 29-year-old centre-back is attracting significant interest ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Gold Stars FC have also expressed interest in the defender, while Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas have entered the race for his signature.
Agyemang brings a wealth of experience to any defence. He began his top-flight career with Asante Kotoko in the 2021/22 season, contributing to the Porcupine Warriors' league title-winning campaign. He made 22 appearances across two seasons for Kotoko before moving to Karela United .
His most productive season came with Karela in the 2023/24 campaign, where he made 16 appearances and clocked 1,342 minutes .
He also featured for Hohoe United during the 2025/26 season before the club withdrew from the Ghana Premier League .
Debibi United, who secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the first time in their history, are keen to add experienced campaigners to their squad as they prepare for life in the top flight. Gold Stars, who finished second in the just-ended league season, are looking to strengthen their defensive options as they aim to challenge for the title again.
ASEC Mimosas, one of Africa's most successful clubs with multiple CAF Champions League titles, represent an attractive option should the Ivorian giants firm up their interest. With the transfer window open, Agyemang's next destination will be one to watch.
