Ethan Ampadu has been named in the Wales squad to face Ghana in a high-profile international friendly scheduled for June 2 in Cardiff.
The Leeds United defender is set to lead a side shaped by familiar names as Ghana steps up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Wales released their squad on Tuesday, May 26, a day after Ghana announced a 28-man selection for the same fixture, with two players expected to be trimmed before the tournament.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
The Welsh group is captained by Ampadu, who is of Ghanaian descent, alongside Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies and Crystal Palace forward Brennan Johnson.
Experienced figures Chris Mepham, Kieffer Moore and Neco Williams also feature.
On the Ghana side, coach Carlos Queiroz included Baba Rahman and Ernest Nuamah, who continues his return after a long injury layoff.
Attention will also be on Ampadu’s personal storyline as he prepares to face the country of his heritage, adding an extra narrative layer to the Cardiff encounter.
