Ghana's Group L rivals Panama have announced their final 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as preparations intensify ahead of the tournament in North America.
Head coach Thomas Christiansen unveiled his squad on Tuesday, with captain Adalberto "Coco" Carrasquilla leading the Central American nation's challenge at the global showpiece.
Panama will be making their second World Cup appearance after debuting at the 2018 tournament in Russia, where they exited in the group stage. This time, Los Canaleros are aiming to reach the knockout rounds for the first time in their history.
The Central Americans have been drawn alongside Ghana, England and Croatia in Group L and will open their campaign against the Black Stars on June 17 at Toronto Stadium in Canada.
Before the tournament begins, Panama will play three international friendlies as part of their final preparations. Christiansen's side are scheduled to face Brazil at the Maracana before taking on the Dominican Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The squad will then travel to their training base in Ontario, Canada, ahead of the World Cup.
The opening match against Ghana is expected to be crucial for both teams' hopes of progressing from the group, with England and Croatia widely regarded as the favourites to advance.
Ghana have also stepped up their preparations, opening camp in Cardiff ahead of a friendly against Wales on June 2. Carlos Queiroz's side will then travel to North America for the tournament, where they will face Panama in Toronto before taking on England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.
With both nations targeting a positive start, the Group L opener between Ghana and Panama is shaping up to be one of the key matches in the race for qualification to the knockout stage.
