Dutch-Ghanaian defender Tyrese Asante capped a standout display with a well-taken goal as Maccabi Tel Aviv swept aside Hapoel Petah Tikva 4â0 in the Israeli Ligat Ha'al Championship.
The right-back doubled Maccabi’s lead in first-half stoppage time, arriving in the box to meet Roy Revivo’s pass and make it 2â0 on 45+2 minutes, rewarding the hosts’ relentless pressure.
Dor Peretz had set the tone early, firing Maccabi in front after just two minutes following good work from Emir Sahiti, and the home side never looked back. After the break, Revivo got on the scoresheet himself on 83 minutes, before substitute Elad Madmon added a fourth three minutes later, again assisted by the excellent Revivo. Maccabi completely controlled proceedings, racking up 29 shots to their opponents’ two and denying Petah Tikva a single effort on target.
Asante’s goal crowned another assured performance in a fine individual campaign, with the Dutch-Ghanaian now on 27 league appearances, three goals and two assists in the 2025/26 Championship round. Maccabi Tel Aviv will look to carry this momentum into their next Ligat Ha'al clash away to Hapoel Tel Aviv on Saturday, May 9.
