Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu has indicated that his side had to dig deep to secure their victory against Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.
The Blues hosted the Yellow and Mauves at the Golden City Park on Wednesday afternoon in a Week 30 fixture of the 2025/26 league campaign.
After a tough battle between the two teams, Chelsea ran away with all three points on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 triumph.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Samuel Boadu praised the team's supporters, while stressing that his team went into the game determined to give everything to avoid defeat.
“I thank the supporters in Berekum and all around the globe. It was a very difficult game. Medeama are in good shape. They are the league leaders, and we are also struggling at the bottom. We decided not to lose this much. At all costs we wanted to win this game to lift ourselves in the league table,” Samuel Boadu shared.
Following the crucial win, Berekum Chelsea sit outside the relegation zone in the league standings at the end of Week 30.
Samuel Boadu and his team must focus on replicating the same performance in their remaining matches to stand any chance of avoiding the drop.
