Port City CEO Francis Ofori Mensah, popularly known as 'Pusher', has made a bold declaration following his club's historic promotion to the Ghana Premier League, vowing to win the topflight title in their second season.
Port City secured their place in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League for the first time in the club's history after being crowned champions of Division One League Zone Three. The achievement came in their second attempt, having fallen short the previous year.
"We were aiming to qualify last year, but it didn't go as planned. We wanted to qualify in just a year, but it didn't happen, and we have qualified in the second year," Mensah said.
While celebrating the promotion, the CEO made clear his long-term ambitions for the club. "Everyone is in the league to win, but we want to finish well in our debut season and take it from there in the next year. We will win the league in our second season," he declared.
Port City will enter the Ghanaian top flight with a squad featuring experienced players such as former Hearts of Oak forward Isaac Mensah and ex-Aduana winger Zakaria Mumuni.
With the CEO's confidence and the team's momentum, the newcomers are already setting their sights beyond mere survival.
