The head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, has emphasised the importance of his team’s victory against Bibiani Gold Stars in the Ghana Premier League.
According to him, securing a 2-0 triumph over the second-placed side is a big relief for his team with just four matches left to end the league season.
“When you beat an opponent who is behind you, it's a relief. We are now four games to go, and we are ahead, so we are looking forward. We needed the three points today. We wanted to score more, but what was important was the three points,” Ibrahim Tanko said in his post-match.
While Tanko believes the last four matches of the season will be tough, he is confident his side will give everything to emerge as champions at the end of the campaign.
“The four remaining matches won’t be easy. We are going to prepare very well. We want to win the league, and so definitely we need to keep fighting,” he added.
Up next for Medeama SC is a match against Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday, May 6.
