Ghanaian winger Frank Acheampong played a key role for Dalian Yingbo Haifa as they secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Liaoning Tieren in the Chinese Super League on Wednesday night, extending their winning streak to five matches.
The match, played at the Shenyang Tiedong Stadium, saw Acheampong start and put in an energetic shift for the visiting side. He was involved in several promising attacking moves, including a penetrating run and shot in the 9th minute that was blocked.
He also created a chance for his teammate Nicolae Stanciu with a clever pass in the 17th minute. After playing 90 minutes, the Ghanaian was substituted for Li Ang in the 3rd minute of added time.
The game remained a tense, scoreless affair for most of the contest. However, deep into the second half, Romanian midfielder Nicolae Stanciu broke the deadlock with a spectacular "worldie" from outside the box, finding the top corner in the 84th minute to seal the three points for Dalian. The crucial away win allowed Dalian Yingbo to remain in 3rd place on the CSL table with 15 points.
Following the match, Acheampong took to social media to celebrate the result, posting, "Another 3 points secured. We keep pushing," accompanied by hashtags for his club and the league.
The win continues a stunning turnaround for the club, who have now won five straight games after opening the season with two defeats. Dalian Yingbo will look to extend their streak when they face Yunnan Yukun next.
