FC AshantiGold ‘04 are monitoring Safianu Usman as they plan for the 2026/27 season, with the midfielder high on their transfer shortlist.
The Obuasi-based club are considering a move for the Hohoe United captain as part of efforts to strengthen the squad, provided they secure promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
Usman, 25, has been one of the standout performers this season, scoring four goals in 26 appearances despite Hohoe United’s struggles near the bottom of the table.
Reports indicate that initial contacts have already been made between the two clubs as AshantiGold step up plans for a possible return to the top flight.
The club currently lead Division One League Zone 2 with 40 points after 26 matches, putting them in a strong position to secure qualification.
AshantiGold are expected to make further moves in the transfer market as they prepare for life in the top division, with Usman identified as a key target in midfield.
