Basake Holy Stars FC have been slapped with a GHS 20,000 fine and issued a formal warning by the Ghana Premier League's Disciplinary Committee following misconduct in their league clash against Swedru All Blacks FC.
The club was found guilty of preventing a person authorised by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) from filming the match. Specifically, supporters of Basake Holy Stars obstructed the away team's authorised cameraman, disrupting the official recording of the game.
The fine must be paid within 14 days of the notification of the decision. The Disciplinary Committee has also warned the club that any future misconduct will attract more severe sanctions.
The ruling underscores the GFA's commitment to ensuring that all match-day protocols, including media and broadcasting access, are strictly adhered to by clubs and their supporters.
Meanwhile, Holy Stars currently sit ninth on the Ghana Premier League table with 40 points after 29 games.
They will lock horns with Aduana Stars in their next game of April 26.
