Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has argued that the absence of key players in their MTN FA Cup semi-final showdown against Dreams FC contributed to their defeat.
The Yellow and Mauves went into the tie on Saturday full of confidence in their chances of overcoming the Still Believe lads to progress to the final of the competition.
However, the team after 90 minutes suffered a 3-2 defeat to their fellow Premier League opponent and bowed out of the FA Cup.
In a game where Felix Kyei, Fuzy Taylor, and Salim Adams were absent from the matchday squad, Ibrahim Tanko felt it contributed to his team’s defeat to Dreams FC.
He is now hoping all players will return to action next weekend when they get back to action in the Ghana Premier League.
“I think the absence of key players affected us a bit, but the players who replaced them show us what they can do. We still have the league to compete for, and so definitely we are going to concentrate on that, and hopefully next week we can have the full house and train for the next game,” Tanko told Max TV.
Currently, at the top of the Ghana Premier League standings, Medeama SC will face Berekum Chelsea on Friday, April 24.
