Ghanaian forward Prince Adu delivered a standout performance as Viktoria Plzen secured a hard-fought 0-0 draw against league leaders Slavia Prague.
Making his first start since early March, the 22-year-old striker showed renewed sharpness and intent, emerging as one of Plzen’s most dangerous attacking threats. Adu’s performance marked a significant turnaround following a difficult outing in the team’s previous defeat to ZlÃn.
Head coach Martin Hysky was full of praise for the Ghanaian, highlighting both his quality and growing influence on the team.
“We all know what he is capable of. He’s a game-changing player who can rise to big occasions,” Hysky said after the match. “He was one of our most dangerous players today. It’s just unfortunate he couldn’t convert his chance after a great individual run.”
Adu’s resurgence has been linked to his recent involvement with the Ghana national team during the international break, where he started in two friendly matches. According to Hysky, that experience has had a visible impact.
“After returning, I saw a different player,” he noted. “He has a big ambition- to represent Ghana at the World Cup. If he continues like this, he will be very important for us in the rest of the season.”
While Adu led the attacking charge, Viktoria PlzeÅ’s defensive unit also played a crucial role in securing the point, successfully containing Slavia’s offense in a disciplined display.
The result keeps Plzen competitive as the season progresses, but the spotlight firmly remains on Adu, whose performance signals a promising return to form at a critical stage of the campaign.
