Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has sent a defiant message of perseverance following his return to the Stade Rennais starting lineup in a thrilling 4-3 victory over Brest.
After enduring a frustrating period on the sidelines, the 25-year-old played 81 minutes of the high-scoring Ligue 1 encounter, helping his side secure a vital three points at the Stade Francis-Le Blé.
Celebrating the win and his personal resurgence, Seidu took to X (formerly Twitter) to signal his intent to reclaim his top form, posting: “Massive 3 points! ?????? Can’t stop & Won’t stop ????.”
The defender’s "won’t stop" mantra comes at a critical juncture in his career following a difficult spell of inactivity.
Seidu had been an unused substitute for Rennes' previous six league outings, a lack of game time that ultimately cost him a place in the Ghana national team for the March international window.
Sacked Black Stars coach Otto Addo omitted the versatile defender from the squad for matches against Germany and Austria, opting for players with more consistent minutes.
However, having recently recovered from a long-term ACL injury and surpassing the milestone of 100 Ligue 1 appearances, Seidu’s return to the pitch is a major boost.
His resilient display against Brest suggests he is determined to force his way back into the national team setup ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
